Dong Van karst plateau - 1st Geopark in Vietnam, 2nd in South East Asia.
80% limiestone and many fossils of ancient creatures species (400-600
million years?). 17 ethnic groups.
MaPiLeng Pass - 1,500m. Built on path cleared and used by minority Zhao
people, H'mong, Tay and "Lolo" (in China called Yi people). Made you wonder
how they live without cars/bikes many years ago.... in fact many are still
without these now.
HaGiang - stayed at resort 4km off town.
