We went back to The Sugar Factory to just check out the Christmas in Tungtang. Then drove northwards away from Taitung. Just about 40min away, we stopped at a small town called Taimali (with beautiful sea view from atop the town where train station was), ordered take-away and had a picnic lunch at seaside.
Further north, highway 9 veered right from Daren to cut across the island (30km). It was very hilly. Though road was well paved, the winding and climbing took a toll on little passengers at the book. It was quite a quiet half an hour….
Sunset view was nice. There were little food trucks on the opposite side where one can enjoy coffee and the sunset view.
We stopped at Fangliao’s art street. Had coffee and deciding where to stay. It took longer than usual to decide. When we drove off, it was already dark.
We also decided to have dinner before arriving at our hotel. Spotted a 4.5* seafood restaurant in Google Map, we zoomed in with no hesitation. It was a jackpot!
The restaurant was huge. Lots of locals. Prawn was yummy. Rice was free! LW decided to get a Tiramisu.
Found our hotel. In a new building just opened 3months ago. The reception was a young man and his aunt (owner). The room was very good.
We decided to visit the local night market just 5min away. It was longgggg, lots of people but not super crowded. We enjoyed the outing. There was a church in the middle of the street and lots of people there watching a performance. It was nice!
A great day.
