Thai2016 Day6 Alpaca Hill

Le Flora - a huge resort. Loved our flintstone unit. King size bed with 2 sofa. One long enough to be adult bed, the other a child bed.
Cycled to dining hall. Porridge prepared for us. Only us.
After breakfast, we cycled and played pingpong. Then, off to Alpaca Hill. 290B entrance fee including animal feeding. A few interesting surprises - white wallaby, sugar glider, prairie dog, hairless carvy (?) Etc. So quite a worthwhile trip.
Decided to head north towards Kanchanaburi instead of back down south to explore the Thai-Burmese border.
Arrived Kanchanaburi. Walked in to a number of hotels. Finally decided on River Kwai Hotel. Nice big room. We had our first Thai massage this trip.
Dinner was just opposite the hotel... Roadside stall. Super yummy duck rice and noodles.

Thai2016 Day5 Suan Phueng

We faced east. So the sun told us.
Coro field - 210/pax to plant tomato and pluck them... All in 30min. Must have super growth hormones.
Red and orange mini tomatoes. Very yummy.
Not a big field so limited to 15pax per day.
Yogurt was yummy.
Baan Hom Tien - entered an alley way upward. People selling local khanom. Wax figurines big and small. Interesting deco along the way - hanging bicycles, old serving trays on walls, etc. children enjoying making alpace candle at wax workshop @200b. There ia a little restaurant on top. Great view with nice deco corner.
Few customers. Some counters not opened, making the place a bit quiet.
Lunch - fried chicken wing... Yumyum. And yumwonsen. And the ever present kaijiao.
Stamp Hill, a place with nice Thai Tea and excellent wifi. We had a nice game of modified carrom.
LeFlora - huge stand-alone unit foe the night. It is a real resort. Table tennis, snooker, bicyle. Dinner in room.

Thai2016 Day4

Took our time to get ready and had buffet breakfast till 10am.
Laundry not ready so we explored the area and whooalah, we found THANKs! A beautiful cafe by the river. So very nicely set up. So many nice photo-worthy nooks and corners. Spent more time than intended but no complaints by all.
Khao Ngu Stone Park - great looking parking. Like some where in Yunnan... Just a small version.
Then we arrived at Suan Phueng. Found Baan Chomjan... Though didn't quite look like the photo (a little more aged) but we relented at the 1000b offer.
...
And promptly rewarded when we found The Garage 1308. Visually inspiring. Everything steely, infused with some big hanging plants upwards, combo of Colonel Sanders and Bibendum the Michelin Man on one side, montage of King's photos on the other side, what a great themed restaurant this is. And the food? Good.
Found Taurus in the night sky.

Thai2016 Day3

Kamothara's cafe facing a small lake. Took a walk around the lake and had nice breakfast.
Youth zoo - a sports area next to palace with a small zoo for the people - peacock, deer, otter, crocodile, hawk, porcupine and monkey. Entrance fee same for locals and foreigners = free.
Lunch at a famous Bake Prawn restaurant. 1500b burnt... Happily, cos everyone ate heartily.
Pasaya - bought loose clothe for art project... And btw a nice handbag. Yay.
Oh yah, there is this confused octopus that looks like a  spider (or the other way round). Cool on the outside, yummy inside.
Arrived Ratchaburi. Checked in Western Grand. Found a laundrette with the help of a kind soul (who just took her key, jumped on her bike and led us to the laundrette, then waved bye bye). Dinner at local market - noodles, mommy's spring rool, papa's kaoniao mamuang.
Night market - candle making! 50b for both.
And kaoniao mooyang, finally!

Thai2016 Day2

A short stroll to local Don Mueng wet market. Simple (but again yummy) porridge there. Also tried local tea and coffee - tamada (normal) proved too super sweet for our teeth.
Back to airport - car ready.
Direction - head west.
Destination - somewhere westward.
What matters is The Journey.
Found Kamonthara - 750B, each room come with 2 pigeon egg!
Night market near chedi. Nice backdrop.
And yummy food - fried oyster egg, noodly soup, fried chicken rice n 100b worth of mamuang.
More food - street side. Grilled pork n mix. 10b soy milk.
Fantastic.

Thai2016 Day1

Don Mueng.
First meal - tjiawern "super yummy street meal" = a super normal noodle stall!
Sixt passed booking to Budget without giving flight details. Flight delayed, branch closed = no car.
But no problem. Mai pen rai.
