TAIWAN 2010 Day11
Day11 - raining... quite heavily. Still had fun though.
Spent most of the day at Astronomical center ( 天文馆).
Then visited TianMu ( 天母 ) area.
Had tea at Tasters. Cheesecake was yum yum. Fruit tea was siang siang ( 香香). Waitress was young lady from Philippines learning mandarin there.
Had dinner at PS Bubu. PS - initials of 2 owners. Bubu - the car "broom broom". The restaurant was very nicely decorated.... and real cool!
Back at city (hotel area). We ate again.... supper time. The "roti" again... and award winning (apparently) Beef Noodles. It was probably the best beef we'd tasted. That bowl was NT180. Very pricey for a small stall/restaurant but they surely used good stuff to cook!

TAIWAN 2010 Day10
Day10 - We got back late the previous night so TjiaWern did her writing in the morning.
Still raining. Even dog had rain coat.
We tried visiting a place called Children Toy Library. Asked some people around the place (according to the map). These friendly ladies called local city tourist info and wrote down the address (took almost like 10min though!). After 2 bowls of noodles, we walked again and found the place - it was Pepper Biscuit shop (胡椒饼)! So we decided to take a cab to National Palace Museum ( Gugong 故宫 ) instead.
故宫 was EXCELLENT! A must go for old, young, black, white etc... we joined a guided tour (free) and it was so so good. The gentleman explained those few pieces that we managed to see during the guide very very well. We later found out that these guides were mostly ex-lecturer or current academicians. They had to pass an exam to be official guide there.
The photos here on Gugong are from (NPM's site).
The last photo is real stuff - Kimchi hotdog at Mirama.

TAIWAN 2010 Day9
Day 9 - Leaving for Taipei. At 300km/h, the bullet train (高铁) got us there in 1.5hour!
Dad booked room with someone he read from a MinSu blog ( 民宿 ) but didn't turn out to be what was expected. (and yes, we left for another place the next day).
At the main station (台北车站 ),Luwei wanted this "roti" (葱抓饼).... this almost became our staple food... haha. We had this everyday since then.
At SiMenTing ( 西门町), we had dinner at Toilet (便所 ). All of us had a good laugh and enjoyed the experience there.
